Meet The Owner

Chuck Saleen, owner of CHS Custom Decks & Design, brings over three decades of hands-on construction experience to every project he leads. With a foundation built through hard work and a deep passion for the trades, Chuck’s journey began long before CHS was established in 2019. He grew up working alongside family and friends, gradually turning a natural talent for building into a full-time career rooted in craftsmanship, trust, and community.

Chuck is a proud graduate of the “School of Hard Knox,” backed by general contracting certifications and OSHA training. His experience spans the full spectrum of residential construction, but it was one unexpected opportunity that sparked the next phase of his journey. A friend asked him to step in when a crew foreman was out sick. What started as a favor quickly became a new full-time role, eventually inspiring Chuck to launch his own company—one that reflects his values, skills, and dedication to his craft.

CHS Custom Decks & Design was born from Chuck’s love of working outdoors and building meaningful spaces where families can gather. Whether he’s designing a simple backyard upgrade or a fully custom living area, Chuck takes pride in educating his customers on their options and helping them bring their vision to life. His mission is simple: bring families together to build lasting memories through elevated outdoor living.

When he’s not on the job, Chuck enjoys traveling, fishing, and hunting. He’s also proud to support the Rosemount Girls Hockey Team and the Rosemount Marching Band. Through CHS, Chuck combines experience and heart to create outdoor spaces that feel like home—elevated, inspired, and built to last.
